Odissea Tour: on the footsteps and traces of Ulysses in Western Sicily
According to one of the most remarkable theories about the Odyssey, Western Sicily is the place where much of the myth and legend of the Odyssey is set. It was Nausicaa, the author of this work: Princess of the Feaci (Φαίᾱκες) (Phoenicians) in Scheria (today Trapani) who fell in love with Ulysses, whom she met before he finally arrived in Ithaca (today Marettimo).
This tour will talk and / or take you to the places that inspired Nausicaa to write the text of the Odyssey, a journey through time among the myths, legends and history of Western Sicily:
Isola delle Capre / Aegusa / Same: Favignana
Terra dei Ciclopi / Hiperèa: Erice
Telèpilo Lestrigonia: Castellammare del Golfo
Scheria: Trapani
Dulichium: Isola Lunga
Zacinto: Levanzo
Asteris: Formica
Itaca: Marettimo
You will also discover in those places and around:
Boulder thrown by Polyphemus
Ship turned to stone by Poseidon

Harbor of Phorcys or Rheitron
